How to detail an engine bay
How to detail a car
-
When detailing a car, always start with the wheels. Spray wheel cleaner on each wheel and let it sit for 2-3mins, then rinse it off. Then, using a brush and a wheel mit, go over all the areas to insure all areas are spotless.
-
After the wheels, pressure wash the door jams/ boot jams. With a soft bristle brush and a foam bottle, foam the door jams and agitate the area to remove all the dirt. When done, rinse it off.
-
Using a snow foam, thoroughly cover the vehicle with a thin layer of foam, let it sit for 2/3 minutes, then rinse it off.
With the same snow foam, cover the vehicle again, then use a new microfibre cloth and the two bucket method to insure no swirls are introduced into the paint.
-
Once the contact clean is done, proceed to rinsing all of the vehicle.
Optional: Use a spray on - rinse off ceramic sealant to enhance the gloss and make it easier to dry the vehicle.
-
Using a leaf blower or similar, dry all of the vehicle, paying particulate attention to areas where water stays trapped like the mirrors.
Then, use a high quality drying towel to finish off the drying process, don’t forget to dry the door jams too!
-
Once the vehicle is fully dry, you can dress the tires with a dressing and clean the water residue on the windows.
